Road to the Moon — Part 6
Okay, so last week was mostly about business stuff. By dogfooding Moon, I realized that there were a few things missing.
For instance, a link to the original event to book a ticket would be nice. Something to show the hours also. I’ve also tried to get some event organizers to use the product. Without sucess so far. But it doesn’t really matter, I was expecting being rejected at first. The issue is that the value of Moon is its community, not the application itself.
I’d like to insist on that idea. I’ve realized I did the stuff in the wrong order. Since the primary value is the community, I should have started by building the community. Now, building a community of Instagram followers may have been a solution. The issue is that I need time and energy to build shorts/reels/tiktok of events happening in Paris so I can make those videos.
Alright so here’s the number one priority right now
On a side-note, I’d like to validate the PMF and the business model so I know I’m not working for nothing. So contacting event organizers is absolutely key. I’ve set up a goal to contact 25 event organizers. If 3 of them are ready to pay, then let’s go. If not, I’ll go to the next projects that are in my backlog. This approach is strongly inspired by Million Dollar Weekend to quickly validate a business idea. The sad thing if I give up on Moon is that it was one of my “problem” that I solve. Meaning as far as I know, there’s no one solving this problem. But at the same time, if no one is ready to pay for it, I just can’t let it live.
On the side, I think any entrepreneur should create content to start building a community. So I’ll probably start making youtube videos to share some piece of advice on software engineering and health 🎉
